Ivania has been a member of dog & pony dc since 2009 and serves as Ringleader, Audience Integration.
She has been a part of the development of COURAGE, Separated at Birth, Beertown, FROM: A You-Us History Project, and co-directed Toast with Rachel Grossman and Wyckham Avery. Currently, she is co-leading the devising team for dog & pony dc’s project “The Handmaids” and helping Rachel come up with a new title any day now. Ivania is also involved in Theatre Communication Group’s 3-year Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Institute, and Weissberg Foundation’s Fund for Diversity in Theater cohort. She’s known as “the art whisperer” in the ensemble.
Ivania also works as a free-lance Costume Designer for several DC and Baltimore theatres including: Center Stage, Everyman Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Theatre J, The Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Round House Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, Signature Theatre, Imagination Stage, Studio Theatre, Synetic Theatre, Kennedy Center Family Theatre, Forum Theatre, Rorschach Theatre, Metro Stage, and Gala Hispanic Theatre.
Ivania is a Company Member at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and an Associate Artist at Olney Theatre Center.
She has an MFA in design from the University of Maryland, College Park.
