Over the past eight years, dog & pony dc has devised ten original shows—including six world premieres and two adaptations—that span a wide stylistic range.

From PUNCH!–that’s the way we do it, an ultra-violent live-action version of the Punch and Judy puppet show, to Toast, a convening of a 200-year old secret society of scientists and inventors who challenge the audience to design together the next big technological innovation.

Beertown was the first ensemble-devised show to receive a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Outstanding New Play (2011) and made top 10 shops list in DC (Washington Post, 2012) and (Omaha World-Herald, 2015).

A Killing Game won “Dr. Robert J. Thierauf Producers’ Pick of the Fringe Award” at Cincinnati Fringe Festival (2013) and Best Production 2013 (DC Metro Theatre Arts).

dog & pony dc was a nominee in 2014 for an Art Matters grant, a three-time finalist for the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Theatre Project grant, and 1 of 15 recipients of DCCAH’s Innovate DC grants.

We’ve presented at local and national conferences sponsored by Theatre Communications Group, Network of Ensemble Theatres, National Arts Marketing Project, Americans for the Arts, and American Alliance for Theatre Education, among others.
