On November 16 and 17, Lorraine Ressegger-Slone participated in a working group at the 2017 American Society for Theater Research (ASTR) conference, “Consuming Bodies: Food, Performance, and Policing the Extra/Ordinary.” This group of scholars and practitioners–not all of them in theatre or performance studies–were convened through an application process to discuss “how performances of food, cooking, and eating define bodies of excess, deficiency, or normativity.” Lorraine was honored to share discoveries from dog & pony dc’s “Shakespeare Without Sight and Sound” project, part of our larger Sense-Able initiative. She also test-drove sensory components of Peepshow for the first time.
